Bring the Outside in with Natural Wood Bathroom Furniture

betterbathrooms-wooden-furnitureSolid wood washstands come in a range of designs in both modern and traditional styles and a variety of woods with different grains and colour tones. Used as part of a suite of fitted bathroom furniture, with matching storage units and cabinets, or as a single, eye-catching piece fitted alongside a simple bathroom suite, washstands will complement a nature-themed bathroom fantastically well.

Choose, for example, a wooden washstand with a natural granite or marble surface for durability against splashes and standing water, and add a beautiful cast stone vessel basin. These come in different shapes, sizes, and materials, so you’ve got plenty of scope to find the right one for you. Finally, you can really emphasize the natural theme you’ve created with your bathroom furniture so far by rounding off with a stunning design feature: a waterfall tap. This piece combines the aesthetic appeal of moving water with its functionality as a tap – it delivers a cascade of water along a spout that’s cut back to allow you to see the moving water as it surges forth. Beautiful!

The rest of your bathroom can be tweaked to continue this natural theme: stick with a simple white bathroom suite or opt for white or wooden toned bathroom furniture. Bathroom furniture has the added advantage of offering you capacious storage space, so you can minimise clutter on your surfaces in your bid to achieve zen-like tranquillity. If you choose a freestanding bath, you can add a floor standing waterfall tap, to complement your basin tap and reinforce your theme.

In terms of decoration, bathroom furniture suppliers such as Better Bathrooms will be able to supply you with well priced, beautiful travertine tiles, which will complement your washstand and other bathroom furniture extremely well and bring your natural theme out some more. You can combine a half tiled wall with, for example, a bamboo or tropical bird patterned wallpaper. Bring an exotic plant or two into the room if you have space – but don’t overdo it or you’ll soon feel like you’re bathing in a forest!

Drape light coloured, floor sweeping linen curtains to frame and emphasise your windows; if the view itself leaves a little to be desired, try disguising it with patterned window film, which allows light to enter but replaces your uninteresting view with a gorgeous pattern of your choice.

Finally, add a couple of attractive etched mirrors to reflect your cascading water and the views from your window, bringing a sense of light, space and movement to the bathroom.
